Valtrex comes in the form of blue pills which promise to relieve the symptoms of cold sores, genital herpes, and herpes zoster. It requires prescription from the doctors. It is the brand name of Valacyclovir hydrochloride which is made by Glaxo Smith Kline.
Valtrex contains valacyclovir hydrochloride, an active ingredient which acts as an anti viral to keep the herpes virus from replicating. Making the virus inactive is supposed to to reduce the number of outbreaks. Yet the virus will become active again when your immune system is down.
